Introduction
\nWithin the framework of the EU-funded TAP-AIS project,1 FAO\u2019s Office of Innovation in collaboration
\nwith the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) and the Asia-
\nPacific Islands Rural Advisory Services Network (APIRAS) is organizing a regional training on Multistakeholder
\nPolicy Engagement targeting middle- and senior-level officials and managers in the
\nagrifood sector from the Asia-Pacific region.
\nThe main objective of this training is to strengthen participants\u2019 capacities to engage in policy
\nprocesses so as to realize the potential of innovation in agrifood systems. Specifically, participants
\nwill learn to:
\n\u2022 Understand the role of policies in agrifood systems and in the context of agricultural innovation;
\n\u2022 Analyse policy issues and engage stakeholders around pressing policy issues;
\n\u2022 Organise multi-stakeholder policy dialogue; and
\n\u2022 Communicate with policy actors on key policy issues effectively.
\nFAO\u2019s Office of Innovation \u2013 through its TAP-AIS project \u2013 has developed a multi-stakeholder
\napproach to policy dialogue to address policy issues in the context of agricultural innovation systems
\n(AIS). This workshop will apply and build on this approach.<\/p>\n
