    Cyclone Mocha: DAE issues 4 directives to mitigate crop damage

    The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has issued four instructions to prevent potential crop damage in anticipation of Cyclone Mocha.

    The DAE’s press release on Tuesday stated that the low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has strengthened and developed into a depression, and could potentially escalate into a cyclone by Friday or Saturday.

    The cyclone, the press release further stated, may pose a significant risk to crops.

    To mitigate potential damage, the DAE has advised farmers to harvest 80% of ripe paddy, mature mangoes and other crops.
