    South Asia needs a change of approach for agricultural progress

    Regardless of the remarkable progress that some industries across South Asia have achieved, agriculture still remains the primary source of employment and income for a large segment of people in the region. In Bangladesh, for instance, 38 percent of the working population was employed in agriculture in 2019, and more than 40 percent of Indians are still employed in the sector.
